Quality Assurance for Analyzer Electrocardiography

Abstract

Study objective :
@EN To determine the efficacy of analyzer electrocardiography in emergency department.
@ES Study design :
@EN We took analyzer electrocardiogram and divided it into normal and abnormal findings, then we sent them to be interpreted by a cardiologist and the reading was also divided into normal and abnormal and compared them. We also compared the
analyses
with the interpretations and also the concordance was sought. The significant differences between the reading and the analyses were analysed.
@ES Setting :
@EN University affiliated hospital.
@ES Participants :
@EN 1144 consecutive ECGS taken with analyzer electrocardiography in ED.
Measurements and main results : The results show 90% sensitivity, and 96% specificity. The overall concordance rate was about 71%, and 29% discordance but no serious adverse effects followed.
@ES Conclusion :
@EN The use of the analyzer electrocardiography is an effective screening device for the use in emergency department.
